On a chilly November morning in 1966, Bill Rundquist left a successful career with Carrier Air Conditioning, the regional Carrier distributor, to start a fifty year journey of outstanding customer service, innovation, and reliability. He started Integrated Facility Services (then known as Air Masters) out of his home with a few dollars and a dream. That dream would become an organization based on customer service, solid technical expertise, and commitment to the highest quality service. By this time in his career he had seen the other facets of the industry but knew he wanted to provide an alternative to the standard.
He didn’t want to be “standard” – he wanted to be the best.
For the past 50 years, IFS has sought to employ only the most talented tradesmen and women from various fields. Today IFS provides a wide range of mechanical engineering, and building services including HVAC, plumbing, building automation controls, fire protection, sheet metal, and pipe fabrication, 24-hour service and more!
After 5 decades in business, IFS has had to relocate six times, due to the constant growth, and expansion of our business. The most recent move brought us to a 56,000 square foot building at 1055 Cassens Industrial Ct., in Fenton. In 2016, we expanded again into another building a few doors down and configured it as a new, state of the art pipe fabrication and welding shop. IFS also purchased a 10 acre site in Columbia, MO with branch office warehouse facilities serving the Mid-Missouri Market.
Thanks to tremendous expansion in both size, and services offered, IFS now ranks in the
Top 10 Specialty Contractors in the State of Missouri according to Engineering News-Record (ENR).
Today, over 250 employees continue to build Integrated Facility Services with the same basic concepts in mind: Provide our customers with the ultimate in customer service, trust, integrity, and value,
and the business will continue thrive for another fifty years.
